🔎 Who is Viva Mescal?! - Mescalito is a rapper, film maker & the visionary Co-Founder of Hip Hop Music Festival & Conference, Lighter Fluid (@lighterfluidla on IG).

🌵 Enter the Mescalverse - “All independent music powered by the hustle.” Through community, culture, and content Viva Mescal is putting Boyle Heights on the map. November 22nd, Mescal is releasing his short film “The Map”, along with it’s soundtrack album, and more on Vibe Stream Network. Purchasers of The Map will also be able to attend an in-person premiere of the movie as well as BTS and interviews with cast & crew.

🌇 Representing East LA, Boyle Heights, Mescal founded the collective “East of the River” that has actively been throwing events for over a decade. 

📚️ Although he is well-known for getting the party live, Mescal demonstrates how he values education through his conference “Lighter Fluid”. Recently, Mescal secured funding from the City of Los Angeles and collaborated with the Boyle Heights Youth Technology Center to host a comprehensive 3-day event with lectures, showcases, merch, food, and uplifting vibes.

Pop Up Record Shop - Burner of the Week

🏆️ Pop-Up Record Shop recently passed a successful milestone of their 100th episode. PuRS have been hosting a place for creatives and musicians to converse, showcase, and collaborate via X Spaces (Twitter).

👻 To wrap up the year, PuRS put together a community event in the month of October - the Spooky Sample Swap!! Community Manager, Luna, tells us “Our Spooky Sample Swap was a unique twist on a sample pack, where community members all submitted original sounds in a friendly competition. After the submissions came in, our creative community remixed the sounds from the Spooky Sample Pack into completely new, full tracks!”

🧠 This event brought collaborations, education, and experimentation to a new level within the PuRS community. Sometimes artists just need a gentle push to break out of their comfort zone.
